This French tapestry was inspired by the gardens of the Chateau of Bagatelle, built by the Comte d'Aois in 66 days after a bet he made with his sister-in-law Marie Antoinette. The property was bought by Paris in 1905 and subsequently its rose garden became a favorite of horticulturists.
